Craig's “not a” Stag Do

Here is the schedule. As it stands not everyone is in for all five stops, but it would be nice to get some of the "maybes" to update with a definitive answer. We told Gaucho and The Dead Canary that this was not a rowdy one, so bear that in mind.

  • Get there for 2pm if you can. We move off at twenty to three to walk down to St Mary Street.

Two rooms running side by side — Z and Oculus 2: Harold's House. Two teams, let's see who can escape the quickest.

  • Do not turn up drunk. If you manage to do that after 40 mins in the Duke, you didn't pace yourself right.
  • Your game may start up to 30 minutes after the 3pm slot, so there is no rush once we are in.
  • Two places per room are already paid for. I'll pay for anybody else that turns up to make it easier to sort the cash later. It is £24 a head in a room of six, £25 at five, £26 at four — so each extra person reduces the cost per person.
  • Rooms cap at six, which is why we are running two. The booking is non-refundable.

    The Dead Canary

    A hidden cocktail bar down a lane, and the last thing on the list. Two hours, our own table, and whatever happens after that is nobody's plan.

    • Fifteen minutes late and the table is gone. This is the one time of the day that genuinely matters.
    • If you are the first to get there, ask for the booking under Andrew.

    Turning up drunk at three

    The escape rooms will refuse you at the door and the money is gone. One pint at the Duke, not six.

    Being late to the Dead Canary

    Fifteen minutes past half nine and they give our table away. That is the end of the night, not a delay to it.

    Steaks come with chips or a green salad, and peppercorn or chimichurri. Not eating meat? The empanada, the aubergine milanese and the panna cotta make a full three courses, and the last two are vegan as well. The ravioli is not marked vegetarian — assume the parmesan. If that route does not work for you, say so now and we will ask the restaurant in advance rather than on the night.

    Because the price gets cheaper per person depending on how many people go, I can't give the exact price. Both rooms booked, and the first two places in each one paid for at £34pp. Persuade the 'maybes' to join and reduce the cost.
    Dinner deposit
    £220 already down against the table at Gaucho. I'll pick up the food bill and you can all pay me the £55 (£49 plus your share of the mandatory service charge). AND we'll sort the drinks bill on the night.
